Reading Abbey Women’s Rugby and U18 Girls
Women’s and girls’ rugby is a growing force at Abbey. Abbey Women’s Rugby, also known as Abbey Nuns, was established in 2013 in response to the increasing demand for another women’s rugby team in Berkshire. They quickly made their mark by winning the National Challenge South East West 2 league in their first competitive season.
Their success didn’t stop there, as they went on to secure back-to-back league titles in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, reaching Championship South 1—the highest level achieved by any women’s team in Berkshire history.
